This is all intrusive thoughts I fear
Plettenberg Bay(referred to as Plett) is a small South African coastal town along the Garden Route in the Western Cape. Tourism is seasonal and many people have holiday homes. My family want to come check it out to finally find a place to settle down and to be near the beach and coastal lifestyle associated with living in a coastal place. Our trip is 4 days long; departing at O.R Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and Arriving in Port Eizabeth; followed by a 3 hour car ride to Plettenberg Bay.

Why the fuck is this country so massive???? Landed in PE and there's literally 707KM BETWEEN PE AND CAPE TOWN
inside of the car
We're looking at Jefferys Bay. It is poes hot, and I had to wake up at POES o'clock to get to PE.

No. We move on. I really hope Plett is good - especially because I live with my parents if its BAD then we really don't have anywhere to live.
Places we've looked at for living: Umdloti, Durban; Ballito, Durban; Mistream, Pretoria; Jefferys Bay, Western Cape; Hermanus, Western Cape; Blouberg, Cape Town; Melkbosstrand, Cape Town and now....Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape
At this point let's just live in the sticks.

I'm worried about my exam results...i keep feeling like I'm going to do bad. I know I understand my work - literally everything.
My mom says I believe everything is a conspiracy but I swear my online school wants to make us fail.

I just came back from eating the most scrumptious steak of my whole goddamn life. LIKE LOOK AT THIS THING?!??!
I finally think this is the place. We love it here.

I'm really tired. I had a great day today. I just finished making some invoices for my sister so I don't have a mountain to do when I get back home.
I'll see you guys in the morning. I think we finally found our new home. I'll help my dad make it happen - one way or another, I will make my parents proud.

Rise and shine. Weather isn't looking too great today but we weren't planning on going to the beach anyway. It looks really beautiful here. Like this picture I took just reminds me of Sabrina Carpenter's Espresso music video.
Agenda: eat breakfast, drive around a bit more, walk on the point.
I'm actually going to update you guys on what's going on inside of South Africa at the moment. Many people lived inside of Johannesburg, many still do but the entire place is just going to shit. Like in the other provinces when corruption is done, they at least do the municipal work. Joburg? No the 'work is done' but they just straight up don't do it. They're so useless they don't even check if their tender did their work. Anyway because this has happened an odd 100,000 times, the entire province is fucked. So many people are moving to the Western Cape because their regional government takes care of the people. I mean, the entire entrance into Plett on the N2 has recently been redone. That DOES NOT happen in Joburg.
I am super glad we like it here. WE FINALLY FOUND A PLACE TO LIVE!!!!

It rained at first but now its super hot. I went onto the beach and it was super quiet. It was 21 degrees (with a lot of humidity) and there was nobody on the beach. I got a bunch of shells to make a keychain and a necklace with. It would be hard to find a 'Plett' keychain so maybe making it myself will make it more special. If you're coming to the beach to find shells; they're all the same kind of white shell, which is actually kind of unusual.
As I'm writing it, it started freezing again. 4 seasons, 1 day.☠️

I made my Neocities tutorial for my friend Somila, so if you're reading this, hi!!! Anyway - my neck hurts like fucking hell and I'm gonna die highkey. I'm more tired now than I was yesterday when I had to wake up at 3 am
Anyway I'm gonna go sleep. I liked today, I think its the best day so far - but we'll see how tomorrow is and we'll rank all of them at the end😂

I just woke up, I read fan fiction. We're going to do Parkrun, (5km run inside of the park)
I'll let you guys know what happens next
inside of our accommodation
Parkrun, good. Knysna, BAD. HOLY SHIT GUYS I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO GET ROBBED.
Gonna go eat at Barrington's again. I already wrote a review on that.
I'm sorry some of these are so vague. I will update them with more context and photos.

Today we're leaving. Our flight is at 2pm but we're gonna leave at about 8 because it's a 3 hour drive to Port Elizabeth. We're gonna go eat Wimpy at the Port Elizabeth Promenade and then go to the airport. I'm sad we're leaving, because I love this place; now whenever I want to go to the beach I think of here. But I know we'll make it work, we've done good things for years, we've worked towards our dream forever. Karma has to bless us with the ability to live here; it's about time.
On a happier note though, I get to see my Panda-Wanda! (that's my cat, the black and white one) she is probably going to be so happy when she sees us!!! anyway - im glad we're not flying on SAA, we're flying on Safair. I definitely think something is wrong with that plane.
inside of the car
And just like that...our holiday is over. My dad says these short stints are the best, and I agree. I really enjoyed it. Before I know it - we'll be driving to O.R Tambo again to go to Mauritius! We've got all the public holidays and I have to work hard; getting my work done and getting ahead with school. Plett will be seeing us again.♡ (i need to go workout i definitely gained a fuck load of weight lol)
inside of the car
EVERY FUCKING ROAD INSIDE OF PE IS CLOSED☠️ why do they need to shut down the main roads for the iron man. god help me😭 luckily we have almost 3 hours to get to the airport
Wimpy in PE Airport
We're gonna eat Wimpy now. We love Wimpy. We're going to go to the lounge as well.
PE Airport
We ain't going to the lounge. We're gonna sit in this poes hot airport with one fan and with all these crusty, dusty, sweaty ass people. Anyway...
on the plane to joburg
why are there so many noisy kids on this plane like tell your kid to shut the fuck up please. i hate kids so much. they're so annoying. you tell me you conciously decide to have these but get mad when you can't go on holiday????☠️☠️ im done😭overcooked
my feet are vibrating so hard omfg idk when this flight ends but it feels like it's taking forever
LET ME OUUUUUT PLEASE LET ME OUT
Thanks for tuning in! I'll make a page with all the pictures linked at the top soon. I mentioned ranking all the days, so here that is!
1st: Friday
2nd: Saturday
3rd: Thursday
4th: Sunday (cause we were travelling the whole day.)
This section is reviews on things and places I experienced during my travels.
South Africa's government owned airline - SAA, is the airline we flew down with to Port Elizabeth. The first thing that put a sour taste in my mouth was the fact that the entire crew was 20 minutes late. We had a rushed boarding procedure and took off about 30 minutes late. When the plane was taking off - there was this horrible rattle. I've been on a plane 20 odd times and yes, especially Safair's planes, rattle like fucking hell, but this? This sounded insane. It was so loud, the entire plane was shaking like we were in turbulence(we had clear skies?) and it tells me that SAA is seriously skimping on doing maintenance.
I was happy to see they provide a meal for free on the plane. It wasn't very good - but it was free.
We got a major discount on our flights because my mom is a Discovery Bank and Discovery Vitality Member - over half of the price of our flights were paid by Discovery. We got a major discount and for R5000 for 3 people - I have to say we got a bargain. If you paid full price, I'm sorry.
Fly on Airlink instead. You also get breakfast, flights are cheaper and they have more destinations.
First things first: You guys don't come up on Google Maps. The food is delicious; but it is quite pricey. My steak was perfect. I got it perfect medium rare with the garlic butter on top, onion rings and chips. It was tasty, juicy and delicious! Highly reccomend.
The service leaves a little bit to be desired; it's okay, nothing bad, just a bit bland.
The surrounding area is beautiful, it adds a lot to the experience and there's a very big resturant.
You should come here - its really nice.
Now I ate here for breakfast, but R95 for 2 eggs, 2 slices of toast and 3 pieces of bacon? Come on...
The service leaves a lot to be desired, it was quite bad and slow. The irony is that they were surprisngly fast with the card machine. Anyway, their shop is very nice. If you're coming just for a place to hang out with someone, I'd reccomend this. However, after the steep prices I'd say rather eat at the Woolworths Cafe if you're looking for this kind of breakfast.
I don't really reccommend this.
My dad, who has been to Italy an odd 30 times said that this is the most autentic pizza he's had in South Africa!!
The service was really good, and there was an area for kids to play. This place is super busy - like really busy, so come early if you want to sit inside. I believe the gelato is the main draw here, but I was so full after eating my pizza I gave it a skip - and I'm convinced I'm becoming lactose intolerant. I ate an ice cream at Pantry (in Rosebank) and I SUFFERED. I SUFFERED guys.
I highly reccommend this place!
A really cute breakfast place! They are right next to Whale Rock in the new centre and they make everything from scratch. This place is significantly better than Sotto, so come here instead. They're also significantly cheaper as well - and they make croissants. Croissant is top priority. The Croissant, nothing but the croissant and more croissant. I really like croissants. Anyway, come here over Sotto - but if you're on a budget just skip the breakfast places all together.
You get what you pay for. You pay for the cheapest airline you get the cheapest experience; not to say that its bad. I still have this lingering distrust for SAA because it's a government-owned airline, but Safair is just "get on the plane. NOW. we fly. we land. GET OFF." and let me be honest thats better than "oh, our pilot and entire crew is 20 minutes late...oh, when the plane takes off it sounds like its going to fall apart like legos and we're still gonna let it fly."
Safair doesn't give you much; but you know what? It's cheap. They aren't trying to be something they're not. I like them.
Fly Safair over Lift and SAA but not over Airlink. Airlink is better.
