My Thoughts

Humbug is a really unique and special album. It solidifes once again that Arctic Monkeys are a unique and special force within the music space. 15 years later it still sounds fresh and new. The mood really surprised me. Its loud and quiet at the same time, it feels almost unspoken in a way. I love how delicate Alex was with a lot of the lyrics in Humbug. It also resonated with me a lot for the undertones of heartache and longing.

This album is quite different to Favourite Worst Nighmare, but it would unfair to compare them. They're 2 different things. I get very mad when people compare TBHC and Arctic Monkeys previous work negatively. Obviously it is my opinion to think that TBHC is a good album, but they're 2 different things.

Humbug is quite moody and dark. It feels less like storytelling and more of trying to lure you into a dark world, and you can even hear the evolution of their sound through this album. Alex has more vocal control, their sound has become more defined, their instruments finally sing instead of scream in the background (not that it's a bad thing! It's quite characteristic of their previous albums.) and I really love this sound they went for here. Again, quite unique.

Just something fun, but the budget for the cornerstone music video was NOTHING😭😭 It's so awkward, like he's staring into my soul like I saw his sister in the cornerstone, on the phone to the middle man, when I saw that she was on her own, I thought she might understand (I am aware this doesnt make sense)
